PACT Vanilla and Spices achieves FSA 3.0 Silver Equivalence

PACT STANDARD Achieves FSA 3.0 Silver Level Equivalence Across Vanilla and Spices
Touton is proud to announce that its PACT STANDARD has been officially benchmarked as equivalent to the Silver Level of the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform’s Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) 3.0, a globally recognised framework for sustainable agricultural production.

The equivalence covers Touton’s vanilla and spice activities and marks a new milestone in the development of PACT STANDARD as Touton’s responsible sourcing tool.

A progressive responsible sourcing approach built on field realities
Launched in 2024, PACT STANDARD was developed as Touton’s responsible sourcing tool to support more resilient, transparent and inclusive agricultural supply chains.

Built on decades of field experience alongside producers, farmer organisations and local communities, PACT STANDARD is structured around four pillars combining  collaborative systems, smart ecosystems, social positive and inclusive growth initiatives through a progressive approach tailored to field realities and continuous improvement. The framework supports actionable interventions designed to strengthen traceability, improve farming practices, support climate-smart agriculture and foster long-term resilience across supply chains.

Designed as a progressive approach - PLANT, GROW and NURTURE levels - PACT STANDARD supports companies in moving from compliance to sustainability maturity through actionable interventions, measurable impact and long-term partnerships.

Already deployed across several Touton’s vanilla operations in Madagascar, PACT STANDARD is a field-tested framework operating at scale across complex agricultural supply chains. The framework also supports evolving traceability and due diligence expectations, including EUDR-related requirements.

What does FSA 3.0 Silver Level equivalence mean?
Developed by the SAI Platform, the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) is one of the agri-food sector’s leading frameworks for assessing and benchmarking sustainable agricultural sourcing programmes.

The FSA enables companies and supply chain actors to evaluate sustainability approaches against internationally recognised environmental, social and economic criteria. By providing a common reference framework, FSA helps align responsible sourcing expectations across commodities and origins while reducing unnecessary audit duplication.

Achieving Silver Level equivalence confirms that PACT STANDARD aligns with robust sustainability expectations and internationally recognised responsible sourcing practices.

Building credibility through verified systems

SCHEMA GLOBAL HORIZONTAL

The FSA 3.0 equivalence further reinforces the robustness and credibility of the PACT approach. PACT STANDARD is annually verified by independent third-party Preferred by Nature through a structured verification process covering more than 120 verification points and data-backed KPIs.

This new milestone also builds on the recognition obtained in 2024 from the Global Coffee Platform (GCP), which recognised Touton’s coffee activities under PACT STANDARD as equivalent to the Coffee Sustainability Reference Code, 2nd party assurance, further reinforcing the robustness and credibility of the PACT approach across commodities.

Together, these recognitions strengthen Touton’s ambition to provide transparent, scalable and credible responsible sourcing programmes adapted to evolving sustainability expectations and regulatory requirements.
Supporting the future of responsible sourcing
Sustainability expectations, traceability requirements and regulatory frameworks continue to evolve across agricultural supply chains, PACT STANDARD was designed to help bridge the gap between sustainability commitments and operational realities on the ground.

Through actionable interventions and long-term partnerships, PACT STANDARD supports clients and supply chain partners in contributing to more resilient, transparent and sustainable ingredient supply chains

As the framework continues to grow across origins and commodities, Touton looks forward to further expanding PACT STANDARD across additional ingredients and sourcing programmes.
